Frozen-food raw materials have to rotate by age and production lot. Paper records made it hard to tell which lot should be used first, and goods close to expiry were sometimes only discovered during the monthly count.
FIFO deduction by lot
Raw materials are recorded as lots with production and expiry dates. Each issue deducts from the oldest lot automatically, so operators no longer choose and cannot accidentally take a newer lot first.
Warnings before expiry
A lead time is configured per material group, and the system warns about materials running low on shelf life so production and purchasing can plan to use them or reorder in time.
Counting pallets with RFID
For palletised materials the plant counts with RFID tags, keeping the team out of the freezer for less time. Counted quantities reconcile against the system immediately and variances are listed for review.
